Hi! I’m Valeria Michel, p/k/a Valeria Proano — singer, musician, composer, choir director, and vocal coach. Welcome to my site!

Music has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether I’m performing on stage, working with a singer one-on-one, directing a choir, or writing my own music, I love the different ways music allows us to communicate, connect, and tell stories.

 

As a performer, I love the energy and spontaneity of being on stage and the connection that happens between musicians and an audience. As a vocal coach and educator, I enjoy helping singers discover their own voices, develop their technique, and gain the confidence and freedom to express themselves authentically.

 

Choir directing brings another dimension to my work: taking many individual voices and turning them into something shared. I especially love creating an environment where singers can grow musically while experiencing the joy and sense of community that comes from making music together.

 

As a composer and songwriter, I get to approach music from yet another perspective — creating something from the ground up. My work includes original songs, vocal and choral music, arrangements, and musical theatre, bringing together many of the things I love most: music, voices, storytelling, and collaboration.

 

For me, these aren’t separate careers. Performing, teaching, directing, and composing continually influence one another and are all part of the same musical life.

I’m based in Berlin, Germany, where I live with my husband, our two kids, and our dog.
